This is a basic overview of the Archlord guild war system as it exists currently in phase 3 beta, we will update it if they change things.
Requirements
You must be in a guild that has at least 10 members and the leaders of both guilds must be online.
Mechanics
When war is declared by one leader and accepted by another the countdown to the war begins and is displayed on every member of both clan's screen. As time to war gets inside one minute the countdown becomes red. The scores for both the friendly and enemy forces are also displayed on the screens of every participant. There are 3 time limits for wars that are decided by the guild leader that declares war and the receiving guild leader is notified of the duration when he is given the prompt to accept or decline. The current time limit choices are 5, 60, and 180 minutes. There are no safe zones in war. You can fight anywhere on the server including towns and zones that are normally safe.
Objectives
Guild wars are a good chance to try to pick up some skulls of spite that are used for clan functions such as a guild mark (guild crest or flag). If you kill a player in the battle square you can loot these skulls, they are not trade-able so the clan leader must loot the ones he needs. At this point guild marks are not functioning and skulls take way too long to get so in all actuality no one is using this yet.
Battle Square Instance
The battle square is a pvp instance that you can port into from most major towns in the game. It can make wars possible and a lot less hassle. If you have 50 guys spread across the map you can get some war in and then everyone can go back to what they were doing. Ports are also very expensive so this is a great option for some quick fun.
Strategy
There are a couple things you must keep in mind to get the desired result from your war. Lets assume that you are standing in town behind some of the enemy when the war goes live. If you jump them and kill them repeatedly they will respawn right there in that city as it is the last one they visited. That being said if you are farming the opposing side their only choice is to die over and over or log out. You must also know that you can get ganked as soon as you port into the battle square by the opposing team, they can wait for you at your portal. Parties cannot be created and people cannot be invited in the battle square so get in before you port in and make sure you are buffed. I personally prefer the HP from an Orc sorcerer in PVP so you might want to try that one out.
